The sound is processed in there and switched to where needed, to the various outputs. IC3001 seems prone to damage, but the usual symptoms are leakage of the solid state switching elements, causing overlay of one sound source onto another.Īll the various audio sources are fed into that chip ( as well as the Video sources - processed separately) Yours is the first case I've heard of where there has been total loss of audio.
